Book printing page layout skills 4

February 12, 2024
In general, the open pages of 16 open-book editions are folded in half and the refurbations are two-fold. 32 book-opening pages are folded fourfold and the refurbations are three-fold. For the coding procedures of various specifications and sizes of books, a large number of printing companies are arranged by the production department in detail, and are completed together with the printed construction orders. The page numbering of small and medium-sized printing companies is generally done directly by the platemaking shop. of. Regardless of who finishes the page numbering of a book, all the following issues should be noted when formatting the pages of the book.

1, in the arrangement of books and pages, first of all to clarify the binding of books and magazines. Flat binding, saddle stitching, hardcover lock stitching, glue binding, sewing seams and other various binding methods, which are absolutely different in the layout of the book page number, according to their different binding methods to arrange the book page number. For example, books with 16 horseback riding books and 16 books with open bound books and their codes are all different. The saddle stitching stacks up all the pages of the book, then staples two staples in the middle of the book's love place, and the flat binding folds a stack of 16 in the order of the pages. The signatures are arranged separately, and then they are put into a book and then placed on the stapler for binding.

According to the Book Printing and dispatching order of the publishing house, it is precisely calculated how many pages a book is and converted into the number of printed pages. For example, a 16-fold open-sheet is folded, a front-to-back version takes up 16 pages, a 16-fold is open for two-fold, and a front-back version is used for 8 pages. A 32-fold split is a 4-fold offset, and a positive back version takes 32 pages. ;32 open off the printed sheet tri fold, is back to copy version accounted for 16 pages. The total number of pages divided by the number of pages per sheet is equal to the number of sheets.

3. When composing books and periodicals, you should master the effect of the thickness of the book and paper on the quality of binding and the arrangement of page numbers. Such as printing 32 specifications of books, 60g/m2 below the thin paper can be folded off 40 percent off; and 60g/m2 of 70g/m2, 80g/m2 of the book paper, offset paper, and even the colorful art of coated paper Due to the fact that the paper is thicker, the layout of the page number takes into account the requirements of printing, binding, and other processes, and it is obviously not feasible to open four-fold printed sheets. Even if it is reluctantly folded, the folded back has a thick back, and the page number error of the trimmed page is too large. Very large, staggered inconsistencies before and after, affecting the beauty of books and publications, so that books and magazines are bound to impair the quality of printing and binding. Therefore, for thick paper publications of 60g/m2 or more, the number of folds of the signature should be reduced as much as possible in order to control the thickness of the signatures, and the offset of the page number and edition of the publication should be avoided to affect the appearance.

4. Experienced publishers and periodical magazines should use an integer printed sheet or a half-printed sheet as far as possible when arranging for a book page. The purpose is to facilitate the printing and binding of books and periodicals. However, in the actual work, it is often the case that the last remaining 0.75, 0.8, 0.9, etc. sheets are printed. What is the most appropriate way to arrange the remaining sporadic printed sheets? If the sporadic printed sheets are bound by paperback, perfect binding, or Hardcover Binding, do not arrange the remaining sporadic prints to the end of a book. It is best to arrange the sporadic pages of one or more print sheets in front of the last full print. , This can prevent books and magazines from being sporadic because of sporadic pages, causing page breaks and page faults. It is better to insert a sporadic printed sheet or loose leaflet that is not enough for a saddle-stitch book and periodical into the center of the book, so as to avoid the appearance of page breaks, loose leaflets, etc. at the book's spine.
